First lets look at what’s happening with this undercut. Hair is about 1/8″ long just above the ears following a naturally curved line. The undercut is also shaved into a triangular shape at the nape of the neck. To keep this looking sharp, follow up with your barber or stylist every 3-6 weeks depending on how fast hair grows and the color of your hair.
And now the grand finale, the stunning leopard spots (or cheetah? Hard to say). If you ask us, animal print never goes out of style and is even better when worn in an unexpected medium such as hair. First, the undercut is bleached to create a canvas for the pattern. Obviously, this is not a DIY dye job but you can do it at home with some help.
Pick the border and fill colors for the spots, either a brown or black for the outside and and lighter brown for the inside. Mix up the dyes and start by creating darker outlines free hand, with a brush or cotton sway, or using a celery stick to create the C-shapes. Then use a brush, cotton swap, or gloved finger to fill in with the lighter color. Use a leopard print picture as a general guide and remember it doesn’t have to be perfect and will look more natural with variation in coloring, shapes, and sizes.
How long this look will last depends on how fast your hair grows but once it’s done once, it will be easier to do again plus you already have all the supplies. The excellent thing about the back-of-the-neck undercut is it’s so easy to conceal or reveal so it’s up to you when you want to make a statement or keep things under wraps.
